I'm trying to send outbound emails in SSRS but I am getting the following error:

"4.4.62 Mail sent to the wrong Office 365 region. ATTR35. For more information please go to https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink"

I have contacted O365 support but they have not come up with any solutions.

No settings have been change and it only seems to be happening on the SSRS subscription emails going outbound.

Issue Definition: 451 4.4.62 Mail sent to the wrong Office 365 region. ATTR35. Issue Resolution:  As per our investigation done, Kindly be informed that the recipient is in a different region than where the message landed. This could be because the sender is smart hosting and intending to relay through their tenant first but their inbound connector configuration is not working as intended. nullnullnullnullnullnullnullnullnull

Configure a certificate-based connector to relay email messages through Office 365,  Office 365 Message Attribution - Microsoft Tech Community

In case of any queries or concerns or if the issue reoccurs, you can reopen this case within 7 days through Office 365 admin portal (https://portal.office.com).

    Hi @JediVernacular

Based on your current error message, I can find this link for you: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/troubleshoot/email-delivery/wrong-office-365-region-exo.

If the solution linked to this doesn't work, check the SSRS logs to inform me of more detailed error information. You can see this link: Reporting Services Log Files and Sources.

    Best regards,

    Aniya

    Hi @JediVernacular

Mail sent to the wrong Office365 region. ATTR35 is caused from a wrong mailflow.

I supposed you try to send the mail anonymous to the EXO, have you create an inbound connector from your public IP on EXO?

Do you insert your IP to the trusted IP on the inbound EOP filters?

A rapid test you can take is that, find the MX lookup of your Tenant domain (domain.onmicrosoft.com), lookup the IP of the MX and try send the Mail to that IP.

Let me know if is working in this way.

    My best Regards

    Paolo
