Two Muslim women stabbed, called ‘dirty Arabs’ in Eiffel Tower attack

Two Muslim women were “stabbed repeatedly” and called “dirty Arabs” under the Eiffel Tower amid rising tensions in France following the beheading of a teacher, according to reports.

The victims — identified only by their first names, Kenza and Amel — told French media they were attacked by two other women after asking the ladies to control their dogs as they walked by the Paris landmark.

Their screams were caught on a video going viral in the French capital, Metro UK said.

Kenza was stabbed six times and ended up in a local hospital with a punctured lung, while Amel needed surgery for stab wounds on her hands, local reports said.

Photos posted on social media showed first responders crowding around the victims as they laid on the ground.

Two white women, both 22, were arrested and held on suspicion of attempted murder, Metro UK and local reports said.

They appeared before a judge on Wednesday.

The victims, who are of Algerian origin, said they were in the park with seven of their relatives, including four children, who were frightened by the unleashed pitbulls nearby.

They were assaulted after asking the two women — who appeared to be drunk — to keep their dogs away from the kids, Le Parisien reported.

Prosecutors said it’s too early in the investigation to classify the attack as a hate crime.

Witnesses said the victims were told to “go back to your country” and that one of their religious veils was torn off during the attack, according to Le Monde.

The attack was late Sunday — the same day thousands took to the streets to pay tribute to Samuel Paty, the French teacher beheaded by an Islamist extremist outside his school Friday.

France is home to more than 5 million Muslims, and the community has complained of a sharp rise in Islamophobia caused by a government clampdown on mosques and Muslim organizations, Metro said.
