Woman Arrested After Hitting Walmart Shopper in the Face with 10-Pound 'Log of Meat'

One Ohio woman was arrested and charged with assault due to her involvement in a physical fight that broke out at a local Walmart, says Ohio police.

The South Euclid Police said in a Facebook post that their officers were dispatched to the chip aisle of a Walmart after they received calls that two women had gotten into a physical altercation. But this wasn't the first incident between the two women.

According to the post, one of the women had a restraining order out against the other, dating back to when the two lived in the same duplex in University Heights, Ohio. The police did not share the details of the restraining order; however, they did explain the details of the intense fight that broke out in the chip aisle.

When the two women made eye contact, the first woman threatened to beat the other woman and her seven-year-old daughter. The assailant then lowered her mask and attempted to spit in the other woman's face, though she missed. Still upset, the assailant jumped into the victim's shopping cart and hit the woman in the face with a "10-pound log of prepackaged meat."

The assailant was arrested and charged with assault and violation of a temporary protection order. Police shared in the post that a criminal history check revealed a "history of violent behavior" as well as multiple warrants out for her arrest. It was also shared that the assailant has a five-year-old daughter, who was turned over to another family member upon her mother's arrest.

"It is unknown what initially led to the beef between the two women," said the police in the post.

The pun was not lost on the followers of the Facebook page.

"Reading these police reports about that Walmart on Warrensville just makes my day," said one Facebook commenter. "The person or persons who write these notifications are the best. Good luck to all of you officers and stay safe."

"Clever as well as informative," replied another.

Many took to making their own puns. "She should have been charged with assault with a delicious weapon with intent to grill," said one. "Maybe next time she will "chuck" it at her victim instead and run," quipped another.

One Facebook commenter wanted to know what happened to the log of meat, considering it was used as a weapon in the fight.

"I have so very many questions but will limit it to two: is the meat like discounted then or do they impound it as evidence? I am not asking for a friend, I'm trying to take extreme couponing to the next level," they asked.

The police have yet to release further details of the crime or those involved.
